There was a lot of speculation about holding this year’s economic forum in Davos. There were expectations of a strong resistance from the political elite of the rest of the world against the President of the United States on his plans for protectionism and climate change. All of this somehow remained in countries, with the topic of the day being the tax reform in the United States. That’s why Donald Trump’s visit reminded me of a rock star.
The founder of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab really praised Trump’s tax reform, stressing that it also boosted the world economy. Other economists praised Trump’s tax reform. Among them was the chief of Siemens Joe Keser.
After his 15-minute speech it was already clear that Trump remains Trump: he praised his policy, thanks to which the US economy marked boom and created jobs. Trump stressed that his country’s interests, quite naturally, have priority, and that any other head of state should think the same way. He assured that without fair agreements there could be no free trade.
