The events around Catalonia had a strong effect on the movement of currencies and, in particular, on that of the euro. The indices were also affected on the Spanish market itself. The most influential were the Spanish creditors, the representatives of the commercial banks, which are public companies on the market in Spain.
This was commented in the studio of “The World Is Business” with host Ivaylo Lakov, the financier from Bulgarian Property Developments Pavel Bandilov.
“One such misunderstanding, which escalates at a very high level, threatens the finances of a country. For example, Catalonia has issued its own bonds that were quoted at a certain rating at a certain price. You understand that such an unbalanced movement echoes both on the price of the S.E.C. and on the investor interest, because business wants to know what will happen in the future,” the studio guest further pointed out.
In the words of Bandilov, from now on, the prices of real estate can be affected as well as the collateralisation of the banks.
However, the analyst pointed out that in view of the new record levels of the US and Germany markets, it can be concluded that the market remains bullish and concerns about the Catalan case are starting to fade.
In the continuation of the conversation, the focus was transferred on the picture of markets on a global scale.
