Investors are leaving the Bulgarian property market

Pavel Bandilov, CEO of BPD Industrial Real Estate Fund REIT, "The World Is Business" 21.06.2024

The lack of goals and a clear plan of action rather push not only voters but also investors ready to work on the Bulgarian market. Another serious problem for foreign investors is definitely the lack of qualified labour in small towns. Bandilov commented that a property for an enterprise without people working in it does not make sense to buy.

In the IT sector, on the other hand, there is another controversy. At high interest rates, it is more complicated for employers to develop. The large investments made in the industry in recent years have also produced results, as a quick return is sought. Trends are observed and “under a magnifying glass” specific things are seen, and those that do not fall under the spectrum of demand remain in the background.

“In reality, things are going a lot slower than we’d like. When the investor’s vision does not happen, the market stagnates.”

Similar “anomalies” are also seen in the crypto market. The ambiguity and uncertainty about the movements of the bitcoin, create concerns not only in investors but also in consumers.

To the question of how to interpret the statements of the Federal Reserve on interest rates and whether this cargo market Pavel Bandilov said that no matter how obvious the market is, this liquidity is directed to markets that raise the price.

“One drop in interest rates was expected. We saw it in the studio in January.”
